GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position is aligned under Ambulatory Care Service, under the auspices of the Associate Chief of Staff for Ambulatory Care; Incumbent is assigned to the Special Examination Unit. The purpose of this position is to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) evaluations to include a complete review of systems and a comprehensive evaluation of medical conditions identified and referred to the IPDES by a military medical provider for active duty personnel transitioning to veteran status. Incumbent performs the required examination or provides the requested opinion necessary to make a decision on a veterans' claim for service-connected disability. Incumbent takes into consideration all information including lay and/or medical evidence, statements of the claimant, claim file review, and any competent evidence that the claimant has a current disability, or persistent or recurring symptoms of disability that might be associated with the claimant's military service. ...
