The primary purpose of this position is to perform substantive clerical work in support of the military assignment program and to provide office automation support using multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents.
This is a Temporary position NTE 12 months.The individual selected for this position may be extended without further competition.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1)(1)year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems.Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of and skill in applying, a standardized body of military personnel rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to military assignment and formal training programs and ability to analyze, interpret and resolve complex procedural and sKnowledge of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel record.Knowledge of the organization and its functions and programs to answer inquiries of a general nature or to refer them to the responsible staff member.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-04 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1.Knowledge of a standard body of military personnel regulations and DoD passport guidance, practices and policies relating to military assignments and passports of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel record and the procedures and requirements regarding its maintenance.
2.Knowledge of the military organizational structure, protocol and similar matters.
3.Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures.
4.Knowledge of the military personnel automated system and various office automation software programs, tools and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
5.Skill in typing;a qualified typist is required.
6.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE:Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
