The incumbent will be assigned to the cucumber improvement program located in the Vegetable Crop Research Unit, Madison, WI.The incumbent will establish and conduct research on organellar genetics and haploid extraction for cucumber, towards the goal of developing tolerance to abiotic stresses in cucumber.Specifically,

This position requires a recent Ph.D (within the past 4 years) in genetics, or a curriculum or pattern of training that placed major emphasis on genetics, that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Position requires demonstrated knowledge of plant breeding, cell culture, and molecular genetics through research.Knowledge of molecular analyses and cell culture highly desirable.
