This National Guard position is for a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2275000 (GS-10) or D1968000 (GS-11) and is part of the PA 193rd Special Operations Wing, National Guard.

As a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0341-10/11, you will perform as Instructor/Evaluator for the Airborne Mission Systems Specialist.Perform as Standardization/Evaluation Flight Examiner, ensure established standards of flight proficiency are maintained through evaluation and observation;administer scheduled and unscheduled evaluations during operational and training flights;analyze evaluation data for adverse trends in performance;conduct flight evaluation critiques;recommend necessary changes or improvements;and develop testing material for evaluations.Perform telecommunication aircrew duties as an Airborne Mission Systems Specialist (AMSS) on ground and airborne platforms in a high threat combat environment.Receive, inventory, issue, and destroy Communications Security (COMSEC) materials for the unit.Perform technical and analytical work pertaining to the planning, development, acquisition, testing, integration, installation, utilization, and modification of electronic and telecommunications systems, services and procedures.Perform as necessary required mission planning and staff work in areas such as scheduling, training, current operations, standards and evaluation, intelligence, weapons and tactics, chief of staff, mission planning, combat readiness, exercises, safety and flight duties.Perform other duties as assigned.

APPOINTMENT STATUS:EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position Category 1:Qualified, currently employed Title 32 Federal Technicians working at the location specified in the job announcement.Category 2:Qualified, currently employed Title 32 Federal Technicians of the Pennsylvania National Guard.(Army and/or Air) Category 3:Qualified, currently employed Federal Employees (T5) or Federal Technicians (T32) within the Pennsylvania National Guard (Army and/or Air).Category 4:Qualified current members of the Pennsylvania National Guard.(Army and/or Air) INDEFINITE:Currently employed permanent technicians MAY BE able to retain their permanent status and based on the current Unit Manning Document (UMD) and projected resourcing this will allow the applicant to occupy this position as a Permanent Promotion or Reassignment.If there are projected changes in the funding resourcing of the advertised position individuals will be placed on a Temporary action such as Temporary Promotion or Temporary Reassignment.These actions may result in the employee having to return to their prior Permanent Position when changes to the manning occur.Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician.Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements;indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period.Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice.Military Grades:ENLISTED E1-E7
